A New Year Will Require Developers to Release New Products

The key to seeing through the market cycle in 2019 will be to innovate. Clever developers have insulated themselves by making their own distinct market segments. There will always be a demand for quality, uniqueness and innovation and we should see more of this throughout the year. We have been working with clients on such developments and the projects have been designed to diversify reliance from residential sales to other property asset classes such as hospitality that promise to continue to grow as tourism numbers continue to grow and the dollar remains at the 70 cent mark.

Other market innovations will enter the market this year to address affordability. We have been working with a large client to build products that will help first home buyers and key workers to acquire homes. We have undertaken detailed modelling on build to rent, rent to own and shared equity to provide a product that can be used by developers to gain bankable yields but also make sales.
